Fashion Digital Portfolio

Life Drawings

Above are some of my drawings of a life model. I used pencil and graphite in these drawings and tried to look at different angles and areas of the body. I think this shows I have an understanding of the shape and lines of the body and am capable of drawing the human figure.

Batik final piece
Above is my final developed Batik textiles piece based on landscapes. After development and research I designed a composition and then used batiks and inks on calico to acheive my final piece. This technique was completely new to me, and I found that I really enjoyed this technique and like the outcome.

Final felt making piece

Another finished outcome from my landscape brief was my final felt making design. I chose to make the felt as think as possible to make a substantial pocket in the felt - which I could later apply to clothing garments. I also sewed into the pocket a subtle landscape design.

Architecture drawing for design sheet

Architecture inspired fashion illustrations

Above are my fashion illustrations showing architecture inspired designs. I drew inspiration from my architecture drawing for design sheet were I looked at different shapes, angles and features of different types of architecture. I loved pulling out interesting parts of the structures and adapting them to form potentially werable garments. I was also inspired by fashion illustrator Laura Laine, one of many artists I researched for this brief. I love her use of pencil lines and tone to show light and dark to make beautiful images and I tried to emulate her style which I feel is similar to my own in many ways.
